When Megan and Melissa met at the end of 2017, they both had their businesses, spreading the yoga and fitness love to both kids and adults. As they grew to be friends, they discovered they would be magical together.  With their shared passion for yoga, fitness and empowering kids, athletes and adults to live their healthiest life, Treehouse Fit was born! Megan and Melissa are so excited to work with the community to build strong, healthy and happy children, athletes and adults that will live their fullest life!

Bio For Megan:

Megan’s journey into health and fitness began at age 3, when she stepped into her first dance class. From that moment on, she has never stopped moving. Growing up in Easton, PA as a competitive dancer and cheerleader, Megan grew to understand the importance of conditioning in order to stay healthy. With her passion for dance, Megan moved to Northern VA to attend George Mason University, where she was a member of the George Mason Dance Company. Upon graduating with her BFA in Dance, Megan became a member of the City Dance Ensemble. It was a career-ending back injury that forced early retirement from her professional dance career, and led her to her to begin a new chapter in the Health and Fitness industry.  Coming back from her own injury showed her that she had the strength and power to help other people heal as well.

For the past 18 years, Megan has been teaching Pilates, Yoga, Kids Yoga, and working as a Personal Trainer. Megan taps into her strong background in movement to create programs for kids and adults that teach them the benefits of movement and mindfulness, empowering them to never be afraid of being exactly who they are. You can find her teaching kids in schools, athletes on the field or inside Treehouse Fit in South Riding.

Bio for Melissa:

Melissa has always been a teacher. She has been working with kids since she was one herself. She earned her BA’s in Early Childhood Education and Psychology from The University of Buffalo. She taught children for many years before discovering she had Fibromyalgia and had to leave the classroom. This is when she began her fitness journey and career.
While Melissa has always been active, whether it was dancing as a kid or in the gym, the illness prevented her from doing much of anything for a long time. As she began to heal, she found Pilates and discovered how therapeutic and strengthening this modality was. That was the beginning of her renewed passion in learning the body and how it can heal through movement.
Once a teacher, always a teacher. She was motivated to earn her certifications in Mat Pilates and dance fitness and began to teach again! Since then, she has continued to study and learn more about the body, earning more certifications in Personal Training and Group Fitness (NAFC), Barre, HITT Training, Sunrise Yoga (AFFA), Kids Yoga and is currently finishing her 200-hour RYT training.
As a Reiki Master, Melissa knows the importance of overall health and wellness and loves to work with individuals to love their body and empower them to feel healthy, happy, and strong inside and out!
